OBJECTIVE
To provide participants with the competency needed to safely carry out dogging work.
CONTENT
Course covers the following key areas:
- Use of the various types of ropes, slings, chain & accessories.
- Calculate the safe working load (SWL) of any rope, slings or chain to be used for lifting.
- Assess the weight of loads to be lifted.
- Safely sling loads of different weights & sizes.
- Direct a crane or hoist operator in the movement of a load when the load is out of the operator’s view.
- Give the hand signals and whistle signals used for directing loads.

Endorsed by WorkSafe WA and Nationally recognized as a
Civil Industry Standard Course.
By ensuring all on-site employees and subcontractors have completed OH&S Induction training, employers are regarded
as having fulfilled the elementary training and instruction component under the OH&S Act 1984.
This course is the pre-requisite to the Riggers course
